Vasyl Lomachenko versus Richard Commey breakdown

This is a good fight and it’s a real credit to Lomachenko that he keeps on taking on good opposition throughout his career. Both of these fighters are former world champions and coming off stoppage wins.

Richard Commey

I can’t see Commey out-boxing Lomachenko so I think he’ll need to come forward and pressure Loma enough to make him uncomfortable and force a stoppage. I think it’s more likely Loma uses his angles and technical ability to out-box Commey and beat him by twelve round decision or potentially stop him late due to an accumulation of punches.

Jared Anderson versus Oleksandr Teslenko breakdown

This is a good test for Anderson who I think is currently the best heavyweight prospect on the planet much less America. Oleksandr Teslenko was a prospect himself before being stopped by Shawndell Winters.

Jared Anderson has a great jab which I think he will use to dominate this fight for the first few rounds before he lands something big and stops Teslenko. I can’t see how Teslenko stands up to Anderson’s power considering he was stopped by a Cruiserweight in Winters.

Keyshawn Davis versus Jose Zaragoza breakdown

Keyshawn Davis is a great prospect and seems like a lock in for being a future world champion. I don’t see him having much trouble in this fight but it’ll be interesting to see how fast Top Rank moves him as he has the potential to become a world champion very quickly.

I think Keyshawn Davis should win this fight by knockout with four rounds due to his superior skill set.

Nonito Donaire versus Reymart Gaballo breakdown

This is a solid fight at Bantamweight between WBC world champion Donaire and top 20 contender Gaballo. I personally thought Gaballo lost his last fairly clearly and was lucky to get the decision but he should still be a capable opponent in this fight.

Nonito Donaire is a future hall of famer and at bantamweight still looks to be a significant force even at the age of 39. He has a lot of power and now has the experience to land it consistently especially against the younger opponents hes facing.

Gaballo has some power himself but hasn’t shown himself to be anything special enough to make me pick him against Donaire.

Reymart Gaballo

I think Nonito Donaire will win by stoppage in the first half of the fight after catching Gaballo with a huge hook in the 3rd or 4th round.

Marlon Tapales versus Hiroaki Teshigawara breakdown

This is a good fight between two top 25 super bantamweights who are at different stages of their career’s. Tapales had success at bantamweight before missing weight and moving up to 122. He’s not looked quite as good at super bantamweight and was stopped by Ryosuke Iwasa a few years ago. Teshigawara has been on a massive winning spree over the last four years and has both come on in terms of his boxing ability and his punch power.

Marlon Tapales

I think this fight will come down to momentum and size. Teshigawara is on the rise while Tapales has only had one tune up fight since being stopped in a fight he was supposed to win. He’s also the much smaller man and over the course of a twelve round fight that will come into play. I think Teshigawara will win by the stoppage in the second half of the fight after a grueling back and forth battle where his size and power come to the fore and secure him the victory.

Brandun Lee versus Juan Heraldez breakdown

This should on paper be a decent test for Lee but I personally think it’s one he’ll deal with fairly easily. Heraldez missed weight and doesn’t have anything to bother Lee who has shown his power carries up to this level before. Heraldez has had a hard couple years in his career and I don’t think it will improve in this fight.

Brandun Lee is a big puncher who fights with a lot of aggression and volume. I think this will be more than enough to earn him a stoppage win in three or four rounds over an unmotivated Heraldez.

Gurgen Hovhannisyan versus Nick Jones breakdown

This is a decent second fight for Hovhannisyan who had a respectable amateur career before going pro. He’s a massive heavyweight with decent skills who walks his opponents down and wears them out. Nick Jones has been stopped by other heavyweight prospects and I expect the same here as he’s only a small heavyweight and is unlikely to land the one big punch he needs to pull off the upset.

I think Gurgen Hovhannisyan will win by knockout in the first or second round.

Conor Benn versus Chris Algieri breakdown

This should be a decent test for Benn who is making good progress as a prospect in the welterweight division. Chris Algieri is a former world champion but is at the end of the his career. He should still have enough left to test Benn especially early on. Benn has improved massively throughout his career but is still a prospect who is vulnerable to being upset due to his inexperience and aggressive style.

I don’t think Chris Algieri will be the one to upset him as he’s at the end of his career and doesn’t have the power to stop Benn in his tracks. After a few close early rounds I think Algieri will get caught with something big and overwhelmed when Benn follows up. The referee will likely step in with Algieri taking punishment on the ropes.

Dmitry Bivol versus Umar Salamov breakdown

This is a good fight in the Light Heavyweight division between two top 15 fighters. Dmitry Bivol is the WBA Light Heavyweight world champion and is defending his title versus Salamov who is 26-1 and on a good run of form. Salamov was supposed to take part in a tournament to fight for the WBO world title but had to pull out because of Covid and then lost a title shot when the champion Joe Smith Jr had a case of Covid case himself.

Dmitry Bivol is an excellent technical fighter who isn’t good on the inside but judges the distance well.

Umar Salamov is a big man for Light Heavyweight and if he can use that size like Craig Richards did to make Bivol not throw many punches then he could make the fight close.

I personally think Bivol will likely be to skilled for Salamov and will win a decision after 12 rounds. The fight will likely be an 8-4 or 7-5 type of fight due to Salamov’s size.
