Samuel Nmomah versus Kassimou Mouhamadou breakdown

This should be a good fight and test for Nmomah who is a super welterweight prospect in Italy. He’s currently 14-0 with 4 knockouts and hasn’t faced anyone great yet. Kassimou Mouhamadou is a domestic fighter in France who has faced quite a few unbeaten fighters but lost to two of the ones hes faced.

I think Samuel Nmomah should be able to box himself to an eight round decision but I do expect him to lose one or two rounds. This is a good test for him in my opinion.

Ivan Zucco versus Luca Capuano breakdown

This is a good fight for the vacant Italian Super Middleweight title. Ivan Zucco is 12-0 with 10 knockouts while Luca Capuano is 11-0 with two knockouts. This should be a fun fight for however long it lasts as both are undefeated and should be motivated for this fight as its the first big test for either of them.

Luca Capuano

I think Ivan Zucco will end up winning by knockout because he has such a huge power advantage though Capuano will make him work for it.

Fabio Turchi versus Dylan Bregeon breakdown

This is a solid European level Cruiserweight fight between Fabio Turchi and Dylan Bregeon. Fabio Turchi only has one loss in a close fight with Tommy McCarthy and has bounced back from that loss with a solid win over Nikolajs Grisunins. Dylan Bregeon is moving up in levels for this fight as before he had only fought in France and just won the French title via decision.

I think Fabio Turchi has more power and much more experience however still has some flaws which Bregeon could take advantage of. I think Turchi gets hit a decent amount and for being a 6,2 southpaw isn’t nearly as awkward for fighters as he should be. Bregeon has a fairly normal style and is an orthodox fighter.

Dylan Bregeon

Fabio Turchi will in my opinion take Bregeon’s zero and win a decision after twelve rounds in a competitive fight. I think Turchi’s experience and power will prevail in the end.

Francesco Patera versus Nicola Henchiri breakdown

This isn’t a great fight as Patera is taking on a very short notice opponent in Henchiri who has no power to speak of and is at best a solid domestic fighter.

Patera has shown hes levels above in his fights and this should be an easy eight round decision victory for him.

Jaime Munguia versus D’Mitrius Ballard off after Ballard suffers injury

The fight between Munguia and Ballard has been cancelled after Ballard suffered an injury this week. Munguia is going to have to fight on a whole new fight date now which is a shame.

To have two opponents pull out close to fight week is unlucky and I feel bad for Munguia and all the fighters on the undercard.

Tibo Monabesa versus Toto Landero breakdown

This is a good fight that was scheduled before the pandemic shut everything down and its nice too see its finally been put back on. Tibo Monabesa is a fringe contender at Light Flyweight with his biggest fight being a loss to Hiroto Kyoguchi. Toto Landero is effectively a gatekeeper at Flyweight and minimum weight and always gives his opponents a hard time even if he doesn’t win the majority of his big fights.

Toto Landero

I think Tibo Monabesa is a bit better technically and this should be enough too see him through to a decision victory after twelve rounds though it will be a competitive fight.

Demetrius Andrade versus Liam Williams breakdown

This is an excellent fight in the middleweight division between two top 10 fighters who have struggled to get the attention of others in their division. Demetrius Andrade is 29-0 with 18 knockouts and currently holds the WBO middleweight world title. Liam Williams is 23-2-1 with 18 knockouts and is on a good run since losing to Liam Smith twice in a row.

Demetrius Andrade has a very awkward style and can be fairly unorthodox though has a good amateur background and clearly has boxing fundamentals. He’s a tall southpaw who can box which makes it very hard to beat him and hes shown in the past he can make simple come forward fighters look ordinary. His biggest fault lies in not being able to get the knockout after dominating or hurting his opponents early on and instead simply out boxes them for twelve rounds when the knockout was there to be taken.

Liam Williams is a very aggressive boxer who throws a lot of punches with extreme amounts of spite. Hes decent technically though I would favor Andrade over him just from pure boxing skills. Williams has more power and isn’t afraid to make the fight rough.

Liam Williams

While Liam Williams has been on a good run recently I still think Andrade has the skill set to out box him and win a decision. I think when Williams comes forward Andrade will counter and move. I’ve seen how hard it is to hit Andrade when he’s at his best and I think he’ll take this fight seriously as he wants a mega fight next.

The myth that the best don’t fight the best in boxing is a lie

A common trope among people not interested in boxing is that the best never fight the best in boxing and everyone just protects their records. I don’t believe this is true at all and its fairly obvious this isn’t much of a talking point anymore especially this year if you actually pay attention to boxing.

The problem that people have is they get hung up on Spence versus Crawford not happening and ignore the dozens of great fights that get made elsewhere. In recent times we’ve had Lomachenko versus Lopez, Jermell Charlo versus Jeison Rosario, Briedis versus Dorticos, Oscar Valdez versus Miguel Berchelt among many others. Even a match up between Joe Smith Jnr and Maxim Vlasov recently was a fight between two top 10 Light Heavyweights.

This year we are confirmed to have at least two undisputed fights in Josh Taylor versus Jose Ramirez and Jermell Charlo versus Brian Castano with a potential Joshua versus Fury fight on the horizon. How people can see all these great fights happening and then carry on with the tired narrative of boxers never fighting the best is beyond me. A few boxers and divisions have been slow in making 1v2 match ups and suddenly the whole sport is protecting their records and refusing hard fights apparently. In Football when Manchester City face Fulham you don’t see people complaining that it’s a mismatch but when a boxer takes a tune up fight its seen as some great travesty and they are indirectly called cowards which makes zero sense when they are quite literally risking their life in the ring no matter the opponent.

Obviously I think boxing could do better and have more competitive match ups but it puts its best against the best a lot more often than people give it credit for. I often see this argument from MMA fans who seem to have no problem with Usman-Masvidal 2 which is a blatant money grab after an noncompetitive first fight. If boxing had the propaganda tools of the UFC it would be seen as the greatest sport in the world but to an extent because of its long history the current champions are judged by standards which no human can possibly hope to live up to.

Mark Magsayo versus Pablo Cruz breakdown

This is a decent fight for Magsayo who is still learning as a fighter. Pablo Cruz is a decent domestic fighter in the USA and is clearly fairly tough. Magsayo is a boxer-puncher who is a world level prospect but struggled in his last fight.

Pablo Cruz

I think Mark Magsayo will win a decision after eight rounds or may get a late stoppage due to being technically better and having more power.

Eimantas Stanionis versus Thomas Dulorme breakdown

This is an excellent fight and a good step up for Stanionis who is a good prospect in the welterweight division. Eimantas Stanionis comes forward and applies good pressure with consistent body work. His defence is actually quite good as well. Thomas Dulorme is a good come forward fighter who has huge amounts of experience.

Thomas Dulorme

I think Eimantas Stanionis will win a decision after twelve rounds due to his body work and being the younger fighter though if Dulorme pulls off the upset due to his experience I wouldn’t be surprised.
