Jay Harris versus Ricardo Rafael Sandoval breakdown

This is a final eliminator for the IBF Flyweight title over twelve rounds. Jay Harris is 18-1 with 9 knockouts and put in a great performance versus WBC world champion Julio Cesar Martinez but ended up losing a decision. He’s bounced back with a win where he showed some ring rust and is now just one fight away from another title shot. Ricardo Rafael Sandoval is also 18-1 but has 13 knockouts. This is Sandoval’s first big step up and it’s coming on the road in England so to win here would be impressive.

Ricardo Rafael Sandoval

I think both fighters are fairly even skill wise and around the same height with similar power. I think Sandoval puts his punches together better but its yet to be seen if he can do that when facing better competition. Jay Harris doesn’t have a great defence but is more experienced and has shown he can keep going when it gets tough. I think Jay Harris will win a hard fought decision after twelve rounds due to his experience at the top level.

Paul Butler versus Willibaldo Garcia Perez breakdown

This is a good fight though would have been better if Perez wasn’t a late replacement opponent. Paul Butler is a good fighter with decent technical skills but hasn’t been all that active in recent years. Perez has been very active and has also taken on tough tests.

Willibaldo Garcia Perez

I personally feel that Butler may be coming towards the end of his career and isn’t as motivated as he used to be so might struggle in this fight when it gets hard. This is a massive opportunity for Perez who has shown a lot of grit in his career. Perez never stops coming forward and while technically he isn’t great I think he’ll be able to overwhelm and outwork Butler who will fade late on. I expect Perez to win a decision though wouldn’t be surprised if Butler won a close fight.

Vage Sarukhanyan versus Aik Shakhnazaryan breakdown

This is a good even match up between two Russian Lightweights who have had a few losses but also some good wins. Sarukhanyan hasn’t fought since 2019 and also doesn’t have as much power as Shakhnazaryan but does have good technical skills. Shaknazaryan has gone 1-1 in the Pandemic with the loss being a close split decision.

Aik Shakhnazaryan

I think this will be fought on even terms for most of the fight but Sarukhanyan will do just enough to win because of his technical boxing skills.

Ruslan Fayfer versus Fabio Maldonado breakdown

This is another rebuilding fight for Fayfer who recently picked up a tune up win after having back to back losses. Fabio Maldonado is 26-4 but is incredibly washed up and wasn’t especially good in the first place.

I expect Ruslan Fayfer to win by knockout within eight rounds due to being better technically and being much closer to his prime.

Claudio Gabriel Daneff versus Agustin Ezequiel Quintana breakdown

This is a good fight between two young Argentinian Lightweights who are looking to make statements to get them to the next level of competition. Daneff is 11-1-1 with seven knockouts while Quintana is 13-1-1 with nine knockouts.

Claudio Gabriel Daneff is a fighter who I think could make it past the domestic Argentinian level and potentially mix it up with some of the younger lightweights in America as an upset minded opponent. He has good upper body movement and is responsible defensively though the longer he goes in a fight the worse this gets presumably because he starts to tire. I’ve noticed he does switch off sometimes due to the fact hes much better than the people hes fighting. He doesn’t use the jab as a major tool in his arsenal and will only really throw it to disguise his left hook to the body which he loves to throw. He’ll also throw straight lefts to the body off a double jab and could use this more effectively if he occasionally switched it up to the head. Daneff makes up for not jabbing by always throwing in combination and being comfortable catching and countering his opponents both on the front and back foot. I don’t think he has one punch knockout power but clearly punches hard as his opponents react to his blows visibly.

Agustin Ezequiel Quintana is an orthodox fighter while Daneff is a southpaw. Quintana doesn’t have a huge amount of snap on his punches and isn’t a big puncher. His defence is reasonable but he pulls back in straight lines so gets hit by anyone coming forward or fighters who punch in combination. He has a counter punching style that hes relatively successful with. His hands are often low and hes especially vulnerable in exchanges because he doesn’t keep his hands up after punching.

Agustin Ezequiel Quintana

I think Claudio Gabriel Daneff will win this fight by knockout in the second half of the fight due to having a better offensive arsenal and also having the superior defence due to his upper body movement. His crisp punches should help him win exchanges and then as Quintana takes more and more punishment he should be able to finish the fight with scathing left hooks to the body.

Yamil Alberto Peralta versus Marcos Nicolas Karalitzky 2 breakdown

These two have already fought once with Peralta taking a fairly clear decision victory so i’m not entirely sure why they are rematching. Peralta is a good prospect in the Cruiserweight division but has been rematching a lot of his opponents who he’s already beat convincingly. Karalitzky is a solid domestic cruiserweight but showed in the first fight that he’s not skilled enough to outbox Peralta and doesn’t have the power to turn the fight around.

Marcos Nicolas Karalitzky

I think Peralta will use his technical skills to win a eight round decision over Karalitzky.

Ryota Yamauchi versus Yuta Nakayama breakdown

This is a decent fight between two young Japanese Flyweights. Yamauchi is 7-1 with his only defeat coming to former world title challenger Wulan Tuolehazi on the road in China.

Yamauchi is a proficient body puncher with decent boxing skills to back up his aggressiveness. He has a good chin and is only improving the more fights he has.

Yuta Nakayama is 8-3-1 with five knockouts and has faced a decent level of competition domestically. I think Nakayama isn’t as good technically as Yamauchi and doesn’t have his style of body punching. His defence is also questionable at times.

I think Ryota Yamauchi will win by knockout within six or seven rounds due to his aggressive body punching style. I don’t think Nakayama has the power or stamina to keep Yamauchi off him for twelve rounds.

Bektemir Melikuziev versus Gabriel Rosado breakdown

This is a good fight which I think will be harder for Melikuziev than people think. Gabriel Rosado put in a good performance in his last fight and has shown hes very tough throughout his career. Bektemir Melikkuziev has shown huge amounts of promise and i’m high on him but this is his big step up and he’ll likely get drawn into deep waters.

Gabriel Rosado

I expect Bektemir Melikuziev to win a decision after twelve rounds if he doesn’t get Rosado out early on. If Rosado survives early on he’ll make it difficult for Bek down the stretch.

Adam Lopez versus Isaac Dogboe breakdown

This is an excellent fight between two featherweight contenders where the winner may be in line for a title shot versus Emanuel Navarrete.

Adam Lopez is the bigger man and is arguably the better technical boxer. He doesn’t have a huge amount of power though he did drop Oscar Valdez in their fight before being stopped himself. He’s been in hard fights back to back which should have given him a lot of good experience.

Isaac Dogboe has competed at a championship level but had two hard fights with Navarrete and hasn’t been very active since. He’s also small for the weight and may struggle at times to get into range versus Lopez.

Isaac Dogboe

I think Adam Lopez will do enough to win a decision after ten rounds due to being taller and more suited to the weight class.

Naoya Inoue versus Michael Dasmarinas breakdown

This fight shouldn’t be all that competitive as Inoue is one of the best fighters in the world while Dasmarinas is a top twenty bantamweight but isn’t on the level of Inoue.

Michael Dasmarinas

I expect Inoue to knock Dasmarinas out within four or five rounds due to being the overall much better fighter and having a huge power and skill advantage.
