This is a competitive fight between two veterans of Women’s boxing. Jelena has had more than 50 fights and is currently a world champion even at the age of 38. Torres has pushed a lot of world class fighters to close decisions which she probably should have got if judges weren’t bias.
Iranda Paola Torres
I think this fight will be one that could go either way depending on if you like Torres’s come forward throw a lot of punches style or if you like Mrdjenovich’s cleaner punches off the back foot. I personally lean slightly toward Torres because she is only 31 and over 10 rounds her come forward style may break Mrdjenovich down who is 38 and hasn’t fought for over a year.
This should be a bit of a showcase fight for Stephan Shaw who looks like one of the better American Heavyweight prospects. He’s currently 13-0 with 10 knockouts and while he hasn’t fought the best competition hes easily knocked his way through them all. Pinchuk is naturally a Cruiserweight and struggled with his competition there in which he had a few debatable decisions go his way.
I think Stephan Shaw will use his significant size and reach advantage to get a stoppage in the 5th or 6th round. Unless your a very talented Cruiserweight moving up to heavyweight doesn’t go well and I think it’ll be proved again in this fight.
This is a true 50/50 fight as both are rising prospects with excellent technical skills and good amateur backgrounds. Charles Conwell is going on a good run right now and is really testing himself considering hes only 23 and 13 fights in. Ashkeyev is 32 and needs to start putting big wins together as he’s only 14-0 and isn’t close to a world title.
I think Conwell has more power and also has a hard style to deal with as he can box in different styles and has a good defence which is layered as he slips and catches punches while also using good head movement. He puts a real focus on the body and is a spiteful combination puncher. He also has an excellent jab and hasn’t really shown many flaws so far. In his last fight he sometimes waited too long to punch but still got a comfortable stoppage in the 9th round against another undefeated prospect.
Madiyar Ashkeyev is good fundamentally but lacks the power that Conwell possesses. I think he has a solid jab and clearly has some talent. He’s not the most active puncher and isn’t that creative offensively but hes still very capable. His defence also seems to be solid and so far hes breezed through the competition hes faced.
Madiyar Ashkeyev
This should be a very competitive fight which could go either way. I lean towards a Conwell decision because of his power and solid defence but an upset wouldn’t surprise me all that much. Charles Conwell is coming up the hard way even after having an extensive amateur career which is annoying to see as he should be signed by a big network with how talented he is.
This should be a decent test for Puello who hasn’t been in the ring for over a year now. Coria also hasn’t been in the ring for over a year and honestly I thought he’d retired.
Puello is decent technically and has some power though nothing out of the ordinary for the weight class. He’s the much younger, fresher fighter who also has the home advantage with this bout being in the Dominican Republic.
I think while Coria is a decent gatekeeper hes getting on his age and has been out the ring for almost two years so won’t be sharp enough to beat the younger fast rising Puello. I expect Puello to win a decision after twelve rounds.
This should be a relatively easy fight for Maestre who is a very fast rising prospect in the Super Welterweight division. He’s only 2-0 but has already taken on better competition than hes facing here.
I think Gabriel Maestre will win due to his amateur pedigree and power which he’s shown in his two pro fights. Cota is a bit of a journeyman who generally gets stopped by top prospects and I don’t expect it to be any different here.
I don’t think this fight will be all that competitive as Nina Pavlovic doesn’t have any good wins though perhaps should have got one or two decisions that went the other way. Maiva Hamadouche is an established world champion and someone that has power that has translated up to world level. She knocks out the majority of her opponents which is a rare thing in Women’s boxing.
Nina Pavlovic
I don’t see how Pavlovic wins this fight as she is inexperienced, doesn’t have much power and isn’t a great technical boxer. I think Hamadouche will win by stoppage but all the credit in this fight goes to Pavlovic for taking on such a hard task.
While on paper this fight looks like a bit of a tune up bout for Boschiero I think this fight will be competitive and may even feature an upset.
Devis Boschiero
Both fighters are decent technically and have proved at this stage of their career’s that they are decent fighters. The real story of this fight is that Boschiero is moving up to Lightweight while Gonzalez is moving down from Super Lightweight. This means Gonzalez should have a size advantage and I’ve seen him get hit clean by big 140 pounders and he wasn’t bothered so I doubt Boschiero will be able to hurt him at all. Another thing is that Boschiero hasn’t fought for over a year and is now 39 while Gonzalez is 32 and got a hard eight rounds in just a few months ago. While Boschiero might be better technically I think these other factors really even the fight up and you just never know when a fighters going to rapidly decline and for Boschiero I think thats likely due to the lay off and his advancing age.
Samuel Gonzalez
I think Samuel Gonzalez will win by stoppage as hes a decent puncher and is the younger fighter who has fought more recently which means he won’t have any rust. Boschiero has had a good long career but eventually everybody goes over the metaphorical cliff and I think this fight will be his.
This should be a very competitive fight between two European level fighters who are fittingly fighting for the EBU European Super Bantamweight title. Luca Rigoldi was on a good run before getting a disappointing draw with a journeyman in his last fight over six rounds. I wouldn’t take that result to seriously as it was only a six rounder and he may not have been fully focused for it. Gamal Yafai came out of the amateurs with a lot of hype but after an upset loss and a few injuries his career has stalled and if hes to get to world level he’ll need to win here.
Luca Rigoldi
I think both fighters are good fundamentally though I would give the edge to Yafai. I think Yafai is a decent puncher at Super Bantamweight and puts a lot of good work in towards the body. Luca Rigoldi isn’t a big puncher and a lot of his wins haven’t looked great in hindsight as they go on to lose three or four fights in a row. Rigoldi does have the home advantage with the fight being in Italy but I imagine the judges will be from neutral countries due to the fight being for the European title.
Gamal Yafai
I think this will be competitive but Yafai’s better technical skills and especially power will show through especially late in the fight which will lead to him getting a decision win. I still think he has a lot of untapped potential however I may be wrong and perhaps he’s just not as good as many people thought he could be.
This is a tune up for Sandor Martin who is one of the most underrated contenders at super lightweight in my opinion. Maradiaga is a tough journeyman and will try his best but will likely be completely outclassed in this fight.
I think Sandor Martin will win this fight by decision or very late stoppage as Martin isn’t a big puncher but is technically much better than Maradiaga so may overwhelm him as the fight goes on. Hopefully we see Martin in a bigger fight next as pre-pandemic he was really starting to put a lot of momentum together.
Eumir Felix Marcial is making his professional debut after a long and successful amateur career. He’s a middleweight which is rare for someone from the Philippines. Andrew Whitfield has had four fights and gone 3-1, he is very much a club fighter in America.
I think Eumir Felix Marcial will win this fight by knockout because he is better in every way and has a long amateur background to call upon which in boxing generally means a lot.
