This is an excellent fight and a real step up for Benn where he has a high possibility of losing. Benn has progressed from being a sort of side show on under cards as Nigel Benn’s son to a solid dangerous domestic contender. Sebastian Formella is a European contender who’s only loss came to Shawn Porter who is a world class fighter. Formella went the distance in that fight and while he barely won a round he didn’t stop trying and showed that hes clearly only just below world level.
Conor Benn has a lot of power and has been working on his boxing skills though they still aren’t great. He always comes in great shape and is clearly very dedicated. I think for him to win this fight he needs to hurt Formella early and put fear into him so Formella is hesitant to throw punches and Benn can control the action.
Sebastian Formella is a good boxer though lacks the raw power of Benn. He’s got good stamina and a great chin so I’d be surprised if Benn knocked him out where Porter couldn’t.
I think Conor Benn will win a decision though it may be controversial. He’ll need to hurt Formella throughout the fight to win while all Formella needs to do is stick to his boxing and not get caught up in exchanges with the more powerful man.
