O’Shaquie Foster currently competes in the super featherweight division and holds a record of 17 wins and 2 defeats. Those two defeats came earlier in his career and he has since gone on a good run of wins. Over the last two years hes picked up wins over Jon Fernandez, Frank De Alba and Alberto Mercado. He also has a stunning one punch KO of Jesus Bravo who had never been stopped and only had one loss at the time.
Foster can box well off the backfoot countering his opponents as they come in which is how he got his KO over Bravo. He can go on the front foot when needed but I think hes more comfortable when hes setting traps for his opponents as they press forward. In his last fight versus Alberto Mercado he showed his power which I personally think is underrated. He almost stopped Mercado a few times in the fight which is impressive because Mercado is tough and has never been stopped even though hes been in with some good competition.
Hes not a huge name right now but I think in the future he will be as long as he keeps winning. Hes currently ranked in the top 15 of the WBC so he could get a world title fight relatively soon. Hes called out everybody in the division to fight him including other contenders but none seem to be interested which I think shows that people know hes dangerous. Its unlikely he gets a world title shot in his next fight but I would like to see him fight fighters like Jono Carroll and Miguel Roman soon though I’d be surprised if they agreed to fight him as hes high risk low reward right now.
I think 2020 could still be a breakout year for him so watch out for when he next fights as hes one of the better fighters in the division and hes also entertaining to watch
