Corona Virus causes more shows to be cancelled.

More boxing shows from around the world are being cancelled due to the spread of the Corona Virus. Two events taking place in Spain were cancelled today which add to the growing list of shows that have had to be post-poned recently. Japan annouced a few weeks ago that all boxing shows were to be called off until at least April and with how the Virus seems to be spreading I can see that ban lasting longer.

Italy has also cancelled all shows due to the severity of the outbreak in the country where as of this time they are the second most affected country behind of course China. I expect in the next few weeks that more shows will be cancelled including big ones in the UK.

I personally agree with these shows being cancelled/rescheduled and I hope that cards in England like Dubois v Joyce also get cancelled because its not worth the risk of helping the virus spread and letting it last longer. The problem with boxing events is that people will travel from all over to get there and if a few people get infected they will then bring the Virus back to their towns and help it spread. I understand many people won’t be happy that these events are being rescheduled but its in the best interests of the country if they are. I have tickets to Dubois V Joyce but if the cases continue to grow over the next month then I will consider not going because I don’t want to help it spread.

A lot of people are saying that its like A Flu so why wouldn’t you go and while I agree that if I caught it I’d be fine as i’m healthy and young the problem I have is I don’t want to pass it on too any older people that are especially at risk from it. I think most people feel the same that they aren’t particularly scared for themselves (don’t get me wrong I still don’t want it) but they are worried about passing the virus on to vulnerable people that they know.

Hopefully the Corona Virus will die down in the coming months and everyone’s lives can go back to normal especially in the worst effected countries like Italy and China where I especially hope that the spread can be slowed down.
